Musicians Supporting The Homeless are back with another great lineup, this time over at Three Wise Monkeys, raising money for various causes such as Colchester Emergency Night Shelter and Beacon House. They’ll be collecting food/beauty/hygine products for those causes on the night too. There are three great acts playing on the evening:
Monster Florence are a band who never really seem to stop writing; Cowboys and Idiots came out during the pandemic (followed by a delux reissue with an incredible remix of 26 Ghosts full of features, amongst others) but given that they haven’t really had a chance to tour it somehow both feels like it’s been out for weeks and years at the same time. Based on their studio photos/videos (and Tom’s comments about what they’re up to) they’ve been working on even more new material in the meantime too. I’m looking forward to hearing some of the more recent tracks live for the first time; 26 Ghosts and Guantanamo Baby were two standout tracks from last years EP, but I’m sure there’ll be plenty of hits from their now sizable back catalogue on the night. Previous shows at Three Wise Monkeys have been particularly lively, the energy of the three vocalists up close to the audience is unbeatable.
Support on the night comes from Imoni, whose recent single Cheap Dreams is an excellent track both in terms of production and the vocal style, and Peonie, who’s recent track Better Than Me is a great slice of pop music. Worth getting down early for!
Tickets are £5 in advance, £6 on the door
